Unable to open excel files from outlook - microsoft excel cannot open or save any documents because there is not enough memory or disk space
User is unable to open any excel files from outlook 2013 (excel installed on her machine is 2013 also) once she double clicks on the excel file attached she gets the error - (see attached). She can open the file if she saves it locally to her machine and then double clicks on it.
can anyone please advise?
- She is using windows 10 pro
- She can open word, PowerPoint 2013 from outlook by just doubling clicking on the files without any issue
- the file extension she tries to open are .xls

Microsoft office gives an inbuilt recovery mechanism for recovery of excel sheets.This utility is very useful for fast and accurate repair of excel files.

This sounds like a weird solution, but it's from Microsoft. They say to restart your Windows Firewall.

I second the opinion of "uncheck Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE)".
Are the user using Office 365?
Are the user using Office 365?
Open Task manager and see if any Excel instance hanging there causing this. Close all Excel processes from task manager and let her try
