Outlook 2016 will not send or receive my Google Apps mail

Hello Experts

I just got a new PC (Windows 10 Pro) and I also purchased MS Office 2016.  I use Google Apps to host my email so I can still use hte  email from my domain name (gottahaveaegeek.com).  I just set it up two days ago.  It received email but would not send.  as of about 8:30 last night it won't do either.  There is no error code, It just says the connection to the server failed.  For sending it says Outlook cannot connect to the outgoing (smtp) server.

I have it set up for IMAP so I can receive from multiple devices.  My old machine has Windows 7 and Outlook 2010, however it doesn't reveal the settings... just gives me the opportunity to change the password.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I guess I misread your post.  I don;t recall installing Google Apps Sync, but it is trying to sync now.  (I called G-Suite Support and he helped me with the settings.  It's sending, but not receiving, but it's still syncing.  He said to give it an hour to sync and if I still have problems to call back in.

I'll do that, but I'm going to close the question and award you the points.  Kind of cool and funny that I misread your post and that misunderstanding led me to the solution.

Thanks
