Hello Experts,

Escenario: I have a coexisting 2010-2013 enviroment and I want to desmount a Exchange 2010 in my organization and keep working with my 2013 exchange servers, actually the 2010 is a front end, and I have a NAT redirecting all connections from de public IP to the internal IP of this server. In this way, actually, all external connections are entering by this server.

I would like to configure DNS round robin to load balance for my Exchange 2013 servers after I desmount the 2010. My question is if The new NAT must be to the internal IP of the DNS server?

Thanks!

Hi,

you cannot use DNS round robin for that.

It can be used in situation when you have 2013 DAG, and then you can round robin for internal users. Simple configure 2 DNS records with same name, pointing to both 2013 servers. If one server goes down, client will get reconnected after 20sec to another.

For external connections, you need load balancer.

Ivan.

You need to use HLB for HA for Exchange. Not DNS round-robin.

Thank you very much for your help. I will study about IIS ARR to analyse if I can implement load balance.
