Krita v3 Linux Mint/Ubuntu 16.04

How can I install Krita v3 on systems running the LTS version of Ubuntu? I know it is possible to run the appimage, but am curious if it is possible to install Krita 3.

That means you have the most stable release above that is nightly or snap shot, so once become stable it should upgrade
