and that ALL changed as of.....<br />

March 1st 2016.... when the product range was changed.<br />
<br />
e.g. vSphere Standard and vSphere Enterprise Plus, as Enterprise not longer exists!<br />
<br />
You also need to check, because you also had up until March 31st 2016......for legacy orders....which can be renewed up until 2020.<br />
<br />
So I would check what licenses you have.

That link is correct, there are Standard, Advanced and Enterprise versions of vRealize Operations.

So As far as I understand, vSOM includes only standard vRealize operation management. <br />
If we would like to create customized reports we need to upgrade at least to the advanced edition.

Yes please. <br />
I have tested the standard Edition of vSOM with predefined template reports in order to generate CPU and memory usage inventory and found that resource utilization metrics shown by OS and other monitoring tools does not match with those shown in vRealize Operations Manager.<br />
Memory usage for some VMs is around 100% according to the OS metrics and does not exceed 50% according to the vSOM.<br />
Shall we rely on vSOM metrics? Can we compare both metrics (vSOM and OS metrics)? if not why?<br />

Regarding this post.. I can confirm that vSOM Entreprise plus includes vRealize operation manager standard Edition which does not allow customized reports.<br />
vSOM Entreprise plus = vSphere Entreprise plus + vRealize operation manager standard Edition<br />
Hence we can only use predefined templates. we cannot even assign a view to an existent report.<br />
If customized reports are needed we need to move to the Advanced or Entreprise Edition of vRealize<br />
This is the best answer but I will choose one of the latest Andrew's answers because he assisted me to find the solution.
