Windows 10 1607 clients will not get updates form WSUS
I am having problem with windows 10 client (1607) not getting updates from our WSUS . They having no problem getting them from Microsoft but updates keep failing when I try to get them from WSUS. Windows 7 clients have no issue get them they are perfectly fine .Its just windows 10 clients that are having problem. They don't report as fast as windows 7 and then after having client running WUAUCLT/DETECETNOW several times I seem them on to the console with an red x next to computer name.
I see an article talking about the same issues and have gone through with some steps as it recommends but it didn’t help. I have attached the log if it helps
Thanks

win 10 1607 had a bug within its update service. Install the latest cumulative update manually or scripted - afterwards, WSUS will be used again.

McKknife, Do you know is there any specific patch I need to install ? They are OK downloading pathche from MS . It's a WSUS they are having problem with.
It's listed here:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/itpro/windows/update/waas-manage-updates-wsus
To be able to use WSUS to manage and deploy Windows 10 feature updates, you must have WSUS 4.0, which is available in the Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012 operating systems. In addition to WSUS 4.0, you must install the KB3095113 and KB3159706 patches on the WSUS server.

It executes anywhere but on your system, right?
Try another machine, re-download it, whatever. That is the official download, it gets no better.

There are no updates for win10 later than the one you already installed. But the next updates will arrive and then it should work. It was a known bug in win10 v1607: updates from wsus fail while updating against the online servers works. This problem was resolved by a cumulative upgrade in september (or october?) and every cumulative update (like yours) will include that fix.

The next patchday is around noon (US time) on may 9th.
To prove that it works, you can take some other machine and download and install an earlier cumulative update and prove that after a restart it detects the latest cumulative update from wsus.

You will not see these failures on computers that have a cumulative update installed. It seems you don't understand that. The Update service crashes regularly on those, that's why sometimes updates install but mostly fail.
