DB2 LUW 10.1 and newer have a good Oracle application compabiltiy support to easilly transfer Oracle application (Oracle PL/SQL etc) to DB2.

Hi sajeev,

As far as I know, there is no seamless "Convert" process.

If the conversion is to be simply a move of the schema (and data) from Oracle to DB2 the easiest approach would be to create the database on the DB2 side, export the data into a flat file from Oracle, and import the data into DB2.  But there are still quite a few things that you'll have to do by hand.

-  There are different names for similar data types.  (VARCHAR vs VARCHAR2) etc.  The Oracle datatypes will need to be converted.
-  If Oracle tables use a SEQUENCE and TRIGGER to implement an IDENTITY, you'll need to convert them.
-  Date and Time values and handling are considerably different between to two databases.
-  Character sets may be a concern.
-  Procedures and views may need some modification, packages certainly will.

Probably the easiest way to do this is to link the two servers and let the ODBC/JDBC connectors do most of the heavy lifting.
