I have abit of a problem. Basically, I have an idea for a piece of software that would be designed to help General Aviation Pilots with their Radio Telephony.
Im training for my private pilot’s license now and RT is an area im finding difficult. I know what to say but when you’re up there flying the plane…..navigating…..and Communicating my mind goes blank.
The only really solution to this my instructors have said….(given I know what I should say and in what order, but just get flustered with everything going on)…..is that it all comes together with experience and practice.
I thought to myself surely with all the tech and everything available in that industry there is a practice platform out there to help people in my position…and indeed pilots who maybe rusty having taken time out from flying….but it appears not…..or at least ive not yet found it.
So ive got to work developing a concept and a design document for my RT practice application
However I have an immediate problem….Im not a programmer. I have worked in software development in the past as an artist about 10 years ago but I now work in online retail and Ecommerce as a retailer and Engraver.
Im WAY out the loop with the possibilities and technology available to create such a product.
Could my app be done using HTML5 and all its coolness ive heard people getting excited about?
would my project be more suited to being powered by a game engine like Unity?
Is there a middle ground solution I might not have heard of that would cover my requirements?
My question is basically who would I approach to get advice from regarding the technical and programming side of the project/idea?
I presume a consultant or software engineer….but in what field?...or are there such ’generalist’ experts that I could pay to look at the main technical requirements of my project and tell me my options ….. at which point I can then seek advice from experts on one of the suggested options.
As always with such projects getting it off the ground is the hardest part…..
