Annoying Browser Behaviour
I run 3 different browsers (Edge, Firefox and Chrome)
For some websites Chrome and Firefox display content garbled, and I have uninstalled, reinstalled them both, checked fonts, cleared caches, deleted browsing history, deleted all content and the issue just doesnt go away. It only happens for some websites (Facebook being one)
As an additional symptom, when I View source I get the same results - which would suggest its font related...
I dont want to rebuild (its my machine) but I am out of answers.... so throw something at me.

Thanks Ramin, no change, good idea though
When I see content like that in Firefox, I go to View -> Text Encoding and make sure that Unicode is selected. What language does Facebook think you are using?
Try to Uninstall your Antivirus / Internet Security and retest.

Dave, text encoding = windows-1252 when I look at the facebook landing page. Does this sound right
It must be Unicode (UTF-8)

Okay,
I have two tabs open in FFox. When I look at Experts-Exchange is says text encoding is UTF-8, switch to the FBook tab and it says Windows-1252.
As an FYI its FFox V 53 32bit, on Windows 10 Pro

Facebook should be Unicode / UTF-8. It is on this computer in Firefox.
You don't happen to have Privacy Badger installed in your browsers by any chance do you? I have it installed in mine and have been to quite a few websites which won't render or display correctly unless I disable it for that site.

HI Guys, in reverse order
Andrew - no Privacy Badger
Ramin - No option to select, ,my options differ from yours
Interestingly when I Change encoding I just get variations of characters and the page doesnt display as expected.
I am beginning to wonder if a cache copy of the FB page is being retained - I cant fin in FFox where to do this
