Migrating to Exchange 2016 - AD/DNS question

Hi,
4 servers all on the same domain. Trying to figure out how to set up the networking. THis is a test env but it's based on a live network I currently have with a 2008 DC and 2010 Exchange server.  Eventually I will be taking 2008 DC and 2010 Ex servers offline once I migrate everything across.

1- 2008 DC / DNS
IP: 192.168.1.80

1 - Exchange 2010
IP: 192.168.1.81
Preferred  DNS in Network Control panel is pointing to 192.168.1.80
Secondary DNS is 127.0.0.1

1 -  2012 DC/DNS
IP: 192.168.1.82
Primary DNS: What do I point it to?

1- 2016 Exchange server.
IP: 192.168.1.83
Primary DNS: what do I point it to?

I'm not getting how to set up DNS for the new DC and Exchange servers so that when I take the 2008 DC and 2010 Exchange server offine, everything will still work.

Thanks,
Nacht

A domain controller ideally points to itself as the primary DNS, and to another DC as its secondary (if there is no second DC, then use 127.0.0.1). That should help you considerably. In this instance, I would have the new DC use 192.168.1.80 as its secondary DNS until you're getting rid of it. (I'm of course assuming that you're keeping the same AD domain)

Thanks for the detailed answer.
I will have two 2012 AD's. I just wanted to make this example simpler in my question.
Make sense to use the outgoing 2008 DC as the secondary.
Question: Once I pull (dcpromo) the 2008 DC and shut it down as well as Exchange 2010 server, do the changes below make sense?
Making each DC's look to the other as primary?

Let's say these two servers are offline now.
2008 : DC1 - 192.168.1.80
DNS:
Primary - 192.168.1.82
Secondary - 127.0.0.1

Exchange 2010 - 192.168.1.81
DNS:
Primary - 192.168.1.82
Secondary - 192.168.1.80
--------------------------------------------------

20012: DC1 - 192.168.1.82
DNS:
Primary -192.168.1.84
Secondary - 127.0.0.1

20012: DC2 - 192.168.1.84
DNS:
Primary -192.168.1.82
Secondary - 127.0.0.1

Exchange 2016 - 192.168.1.83
DNS:
Primary - 192.168.1.82
Secondary - 192.168.1.84  // Add second 2012 DC here

Yes, that's the proper setup for DCs. Also, you may want to modify the points assignment. I think you set it to use your own response as the answer :D
