netapp with 2 domain at the same time

I have 1 domain xxx.xxx.local on my private LAN with 30 users and have netapp storage, no exchange.
My server is windows 2003.
I would like to change my domain name to xxx.local and to upgrade to windows server 2012.

I decided to create a new server (2012) with the new domain name and to create everything from scratch.
I will install the new server and conncet to the same LAN.

Now,
I want to create 1 user at a time, setting premmision  and log out on his computer and enter the new domain.
after I will finish with the users  - I will change the the resources on the net

Do I have a problem to do it this way?
Do I have a problem to use  netapp storage with both domain the same time?

@MidnightOne - So I can get access with the new user I created in the new domain to the storage (which is currently joined to my older domain)?
And after I managed to create all the 30 new users in the new domain and their client are now in the new domain - I just need to make the storage leave the old domain and join it to the new one?
I want to remove the old domain, so the trust settings will no longer be necessary?

If there is security settings on your storage that verifies by domain, then whether or not this works depends on how you are set up.

If your storage can verify against more than one domain at a time, it will work fine, just assign the new security in addition to the old. If it can't then testing to see if it will recognize a trust is the next step.

Thanks for all the help. i didn't started yet handling the netapp.
First I installed the new server and created a new AD and domain.
Now - I have several servers which are joined to the old domain and users are using these servers.
I created a new user on the new domain (same name like in the old domain), now I want the user to start access these servers with the new user on the new domain.
What is  the right process? in the end I want these servers to leave the old domain and join the new one but only after I handled and created all the other users and clients. I want to add permissions to the new user on specific directory on one of the servers but I can only choose from the old domain and local.
