App menu drop down in Windows 10

Hello,
I need to ask, because I do not have the time to searching for this setting.  I had it once, then I must have, or did make a changed that changed what I did not want to changed.  Now that I got you confused, here is my question; how do I get the apps to display in a drop down display along side of the taskbar?  I used to click on the "window icon" at the top of the taskbar, then the alphabetical display of the installed apps would be found on the desktop.  I could then mouse wheel down to the alphabet pick, like "S" for skype, etc.
Now it is gone and I do not know what I might have changed.
I meant to add this screenshot.  The menu used to be where the vertical red line is now shown

Thanks

This is a Vertical Taskbar, make it Horizontal.
Here is a tutorial on resetting your start menu that is useful

I think you can drag and drop it to the bottom center of your display.
make sure it's not locked.

John, lol, I lost interest at this point; "In order to reset the Start menu layout on Windows 10, you'll need to have three user accounts on your computer."  I need a quick fix.  If I do not find one then I'll do as your suggested website directs.  For now, I do not have lots of time to tinker for a function that I can do without.
I hope someone has a better solution.

You owe me points....just kidding,  Points coming to you for helping.
Hm, but you realize that those are the settings I directed you to? :-)
