Windows UI HORRORS! - Is it the "System Tray"? "Systray"? or "notification area"?

For years, I was taught, I saw and I wrote that the area in the lower right corner of the Windows UI was the System Tray or Systray.
I just looked at the Microsoft Manual of Style 4th Ed and it's now called the Notification area.
Where can I file formal complaint?  This is a stupid change.

Heh.. If you really want to lodge a complaint, then I'd suggest writing to the publishers: "Microsoft Press"

Here's a couple of ways..

You can give your comments, thoughts and opinions about the book here: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/booksurvey

Email Microsoft Book Support here: mspinput@microsoft.com

Hope that helps :)

Cheers..

I think the OP's point was that it's always been known in the past as the "System Tray" or "Systray"  Ramin.

He appears to be a little perturbed by the fact that they've now changed it to be referred to as the Notification Area and wants to object to the change. :)
Maybe in normal articles you can see System tray not in Microsoft Official Articles.
Always been Notification Area is Visual Studio AFAIK

One more thing... The "RESTORE" button is now called "RESTORE DOWN".
Like the system tray aka systray, the original term has been part of standard Windows nomenclature and documentation since 1989.
Just checked, it is notification area in Visual Studion 2003
This 2013 xp video talks about restore down https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aoFofvHDjZE
One is a blog, the other a forum. The first shows the VS C# code and in it says NOTIFYICONDATA, m_notifyIcon
