I am looking for a reliable program to clone servers
Hello All
I have now been charged with handling the backups of the servers at my place of employment. We have two servers, 2012 R2 standard, I will call them Alpha and Beta. I would like to make this as painless as possible so I am thinking to have the company purchase 2 more servers identical to the two we currently have, lets call them One and Two. I would then want to run a cloning program to clone all the info from a server onto its backup.
My thinking is that if I clone Alpha onto machine One, and Alpha completely craps out one day I could simply unplug Alpha from the network and plug One into the network and it would be as if nothing happened (Yes I do know that any work done that day on Alpha would be lost, but one days worth would not be horrible).
Does this sound like a good plan? If so can anyone recommend software that is reliable? A long time ago I used XXClone for windows 95 machines and it worked nicely so I would like something like that.
Thanks

Thanks to all. This is giving me some good information. LVL80, I would love to set up a play area. If it looks like this will be a permanent role here at the company I probably will do that (I would love to try this Bare Metal Restore without having to worry about damaging things :D)
