If I will use the Microsoft deployment toolkit then, I can do this PowerShell script also or not? Suppose, I have a server of Windows 2008 R2 and I need to upgrade that server in Windows Server 2012 R2 without loosing its data and keeps the backup of data.
For this what I can do?
Microsoft deployment toolkit is a collection of scripts. You can include your scripts.

Why do you need a script? You are not going to upgrade multiple servers in the same way .

Backups should be set already. A simple script cannot do this much.
Then, what I need to do to upgrade multiple servers at the same time with the PowerShell script.
What type of script can help me out for this?
Are these physical servers or virtual servers? Are all the servers the same or do they have different roles with different server products (for instance does one have exchange and another SQL)?
All are virtual servers and all have same roles and server products.

It requires use of MDT Upgrade Task, a normal installation  is a keep nothing install (there is no upgrade option natively)
