Remote Desktop and Remote App How to Make the domain name unnecessary

Let us suppose you were trying to use remote desktop or launch a remote app to connect to a server computer. In order to log in you must first type the domain name and then a slash and then the user name. I can program the web pages for the remote app rdweb thing such that you don't need the domain name (it will add it in behind the scenes), but when the remoteapp is launched and the user must sign in again the domain name is necessary.

Is there any way to make windows just use a default domain name and not require it if you just type in the user name?

I have Windows Server 2012 R2 installed. It is a standalone server with rd web access installed, rd connection broker, and a rd session host. I have no rd gateway installed. I use a different server for the rd licensing host and the domain name server.

Thanks!
Jeffrey

Lee,

That actually doesn't sound like a terrible solution, so would I be able to use any email address for the user or would they all have to end in my domain name? I will see what I have to do now to try to add that to the domains and trusts and see what it does..

Thank you! ~Jeffrey
That is actually really, really cool. I'm going to show my boss and test it on multiple users and connections but I think this might be the answer. :)
