Hi Experts

Could you point a VFP code to quit an Excel instance that could be trapped in PC before to start an Excel automation process to generate a sheet?

During an Excel automation sometimes a variety of errors occurs  I guess due an Excel instance to be oppened  even it's not visible- only with "task manager". If it's manually closed, things go easier. The worst, sometimes a sheet file couldn't be eliminated because it's trapped by Excel and an Excel instance doesn't even appear at "Task Manager"...

Very cahotic things occur also... a date column from nothing changes the mask from dd/mm/yyyy  to mm/dd/yyyy  in a  column from a line to the subsequent (?!)

I'm really reconsidering the use of Excel automation from VFP. It seens errors dificult to deal appears.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Pcelba

Thank you for your reply and alternatives but I wouldn't start the other ways.

Really it's really complicated to give an app to the user with so unrealible conditions.
Two days of work...
The date format (that we talk in the other question) stop to work as initial (no red for negative values and no right align), the numerical column couldn't be used even for a sum - using Numerical ou Numerical Regional. And the worst date mask changes in the same column  from a line to the other....

The better I do is  to generate as a plain sheet  as before. And then give instructions (very simple) on how to configure it.
Maintaining the sheet funcionality - the most important.
Ops...

Wrong
The date format....

Right
The numerical format....
Thank you for the attention and help!
