I'm almost 100% certain that you couldn't lock files over a cloud based service such as Dropbox either, again they have their own conflict resolution procedures. <br />

Thanks for your response. I am currently using Dropbox and have for a while but recently realised that numerous versions of word document has been occurring. I am trying to find a way that if those that share a folders with me will be locked out from editing pending when editing is completed.<br />
