Wordpress contact form sending spam

Our EcDev department has a website that is sending out randomly generate spam I'm just trying to figure out how.
The site is version 4.7.4 the latest
The site is running WordFence
The contact form does have a captcha 'i am not a robot'

The emails are coming us in this format this is in the body of the email:
The actual From field shows the same 590ca1f9dc0fd  as in the body but this part <dongle69@yahoo.com> is <wordpress@www2.ourwebsite.ca>

From: 590ca1f9dc0fd <dongle69@yahoo.com>
Subject: [your-subject]

Message Body:
[your-message]

This is the way the body of the email is showing.
Can anyone shed some light for me?

Do you have access to your mail server logs? If so have you tried tailing your mail.log to see if you can identify the flow of emails?
