Internet Access how it is displayed in my status bar
When I put my mouse and sat on the icon to display which wireless internet I was connected to , it read " WeCanhearyouhaving sex" as the network. This alarmed me, I never say this before. and I started thinking HACKERS. When I searched for that network by double clicking the Icon to open and see the available networks, that one was not visible.
The icon I am referring to is next to the clock In the right side of my status bar.
it is a Del Laptop
the event troubled me as I am used to using that icon to see what ireless network I am connected to. how could that have been displayed.
also, can someone explain the difference of a network name and the ssid ( if that is the proper name )

Thanks,
SSID is considered to be a fairly weak form of security because an SSID can be sniffed in plain text from a packet and most access points broadcast the SSID multiple times per second within the frame of the network traffic. It can be suppressed from being 'advertised' and then not seen by others; but a hacker can easily use analysis tool like that from the Apple Store network analyzer to identify the SSID. Some network administrators turn off SSID broadcasting, but a hacker can still sniff the SSID from frames that stations use when associating with an access point.
