email adress opens in chrome
when i click on an email address in outlook 2016 inside an email a tab in chrome opens up instead of a new email screen. How can I fix this and how did this happen?
Open Outlook, File, Options and make sure the setting to make Outlook the default email application is enabled. Then restart the computer.

it is already the default. What else can I do?
Try two things:
1. Repair Office (full repair)
2. Make a new, test Windows User Profile (account) . Log into the new Windows Account and test Outlook.

Hi,
Try to review the mailto setting:
Control Panel-> Programs-> Default Programs-> Set your default programs-> select Outlook (desktop)-> Either use “Set this program as default” to assign Outlook all the defaults it can have or use “Choose defaults for this program” to manually select the MAILTO protocol.

Does this happen to all normal emails or only PDF attachments ?

I will give those solutions a try thanks
The simplest way is to remove Chrome.
Restart computer and do a test.
After test, reinstall Chrome.

After test, reinstall Chrome.
You might also remove any Chrome extensions and reset Chrome to default as that may work as well.
