Adobe Illustrator does not see my Helvetica font so it wants to substitute.

I am opening .eps files created from a CAD application that contain Helvetica.  My computer clearly has the font installed because other applications can use it and read it.  Adobe Illustrator does not see the Helvetica family nor does it show up in the list of available system fonts (within Illustrator).  The Windows/Fonts folder does show the Helvetica font.

Sometimes the font names have to match exactly.  Macs have Helvetica Neue which doesn't match to simple Helvetica.
You should be able to let Illustrator replace the Helvetica in the file with the one you have on your mac. Of course, you would have to evaluate how important it is to keep it exactly the same. At least it is possible to replace it again back to the original font if that would be necessary.

These .eps files were created on a Windows 10 PC with Helvetica installed.  I then attempt to open them on another Win10 PC with Helvetica Installed but that's when it fails and trys to substitute.  I cannot replace the font as that's what our composition dept. is expecting.  There is something wrong with the Adobe Illustrator in this scenario I believe.
I think it would be a chance that the font cache would need a rebuild. At least the symptom suggests so. I come from the mac side of things but I found this articles that might help to rebuild the font cache. I hope this helps with your problem.
