SSD to USB-C Adapter
I have a SSD M.2 PCIe 3.0 NZMe drive that I need to connect to my laptop externally. My laptop has a Type-A USB 3.0 port and a USB-C port. Either is fine, I just need it connected.
I understand that without using Thunderbolt 3 I may not get the same transfer rate, but at this point I just want a connection.
What do I need?

Just need an M2 to USB adaptor. Loads available, such as: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ZTC-Thunder-Enclosure-NGFF-M-2/dp/B00KQ4LNJC

Presumably where you have put NZMe you meant NVMe? I don't think there is such a thing as a NVMe to USB adapter and I doubt anyone will ever make one as USB defeats the speed/purpose of NVMe in that NVMe is directly connected to the PC/server's PCIe bus.

Andy, you are correct in correcting my typo.
I agree a NVMe to USB would effectively cap the data transfer speed, but how else would one hook it up externally? I have a corrupt drive (the SSD in question) and my plan is to hook it up externally to another laptop to perform maintenance and run the required tools. I do understand your point about the bus though, thanks.

Thanks Andy M, I've ordered it.
You've ordered something that says *** Not PCIe compatible *** to plug a NVMe PCIe SSD into?
Look at the "often bought together" picture on that page of Amazon you can see a SATA M2 card plus that adapter, not a MVMe M2 card - you can tell by the notches in the card as they don't show the socket.

Arghhh! Unfortunately I don't have possession of the drive at the moment so I couldn't compare notches.
So, there is no way to hook up this drive to another computer without a traditional pcie mobo port?
