Exchange 2010 CAS array Load Balancing.

Exchange 2010 CAS array Load Balancing.

If I understand , companies need to use Hardware load balancer for CAS servers , so that external users can reach the mailboxes of internal users.

I would like to know how CAS servers are load-balanced from inside the company. For instance if an internal user sends email to another internal user, or when internal users try to open their  Outlook.

Thank you

So from inside , there is nothing that points to VIP of the Load Balancer.
Correct ?

From Outside, when external users hit the Load Balancer, it will send them to the less busiest of the CAS servers. Then the CAS server will handle the query to find which Server/Mailbox Database user mailbox is located in.
Correct ?

No from inside and outside it should point to VIP of load balancer. Only database will failover automatic(assuming you have DAG configured) not the CAS server.  Please read this Technet blog.

No from inside and outside it should point to VIP of load balancer.

So Load-Balancer will have Public IP address(for external users)  and Private Ip address (for internal users) ?
