Does VCenter is required or not for each Data Center location ?
Hi All,
I've got multiple Data Center and two site offices where all the IT team is working and some of them got Server room.
Do I need to install & run VCenter server on each of the Data Center on each site where ESXi servers running ?

Hi Andrew,
The link between the DC is connected using Dark Fibre so it is low latency and about 1 GB of bandwidth in between.
Would that be sufficient?
No, I'm not planning for SRM since I will be using Veeam Backup v9.5 :-)

Nothing wrong with your network there, so depends on your vSphere design, what you want achieve, and what resilience you want to build in, and how complex you want to make it.
if I was you, I would install VC at both sites. (Linked). External PSC. High Availability Mode. But that's what we would do and recommend.
and then you can login to local VC for management, and visibility of your entire estate.

Ok, in this case I will have to buy additional incense for VCenter standard and migrate the existing All in one embedded VCSA on each site to stand alone VCSA and it's own PSC ?
Yes, that's the supported method, of external PSC, and two vCenters, (no embedded!).

Thanks !

I assume that if I replicate the VCSA VM offline using vSphere replication to the DR Data Center, I can then turn it on when the Production VCenter is down.
