Problem viewing emails on second monitor (Outlook 2016)

Hi.  I'm running MS Outlook 2016 on a new Acer Aspire V Nitor laptop connected to a Dell P2314H monitor.  I've been using the set up without issue for about three months.  A couple of days ago I found that Outlook had a problem whenever I opened an email on the monitor (whilst viewing the home page on the laptop screen).  Only a section of the email would be vieawable at best, at worst the email was just a blank page and the whole program froze.  This problem is only with Outlook and other MS office programs are fine still.  I've tried re-installing Outlook, disabling COM - add ins, scanning for viruses etc. all to no avail.  Can you suggest what might be causing this issue?

Thanks

Mark

I'd take a look at disabling hardware acceleration:

It may not resolve your specific problem but it is quick and easy to test.

Thanks for the response, but it is already disabled.
Office 365 subscription?
Nope - up to date subscription.

What I think it is due to is my Mailbox file sizes being large (I realised that I haven't archived for some time).  Outlook does strange things when the file sizes are too large for it to handle.  I'll do some spring cleaning today and see if it makes a difference...
Your primary disk is a 256gb SSD and your OST / PST file is saved in the primary disk?
no - PST files are on the HDD drive
