AMD A8-7600 Graphics Not Detected Windows 7

We upgraded a customer's processor to an AMD A8-7600 APU with R7 Graphics, and now he can't play solitaire.  It also says there is not a compatible Direct 3D video card for the screensaver and we cannot complete the Windows Experience Index.

I have uninstalled all the AMD drivers, and downloaded the latest from AMD.com, including the APU drivers and chipset drivers for Windows 7 64-bit, but this does not help.  As far as I can see, the drivers are installed fine, but Windows 7 does not know what to do with them.  Please assist! :)

Is the motherboard compatible with the new processor?

The motherboard is MSI A78M-E35

It says it should be compatible.

How old is the motherboard? Did you flash the bios as well?

Good call Edward, it's on 30.1.  They have 30.6 for the BIOS.  I'm going to attempt to update it.

Hi Scott,

Apply this Hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2159238

Uninstall AMD Catalyst form programs and features, restart, and Reinstall it, also change all it's settings to default.

Also try to reseat the Card.

Okay, I thought we had it taken care of with the BIOS update, and Spider Solitaire plus the screensaver was working.  Then, we took the customer's tower home and hooked it up.  Now, it does not work again.  So this time we brought their screen, keyboard, and mouse with the tower.

Is it possible to Uninstall that game and reinstall it ?
Edward Pamias

How old is this game?
Ramin

If you still have problem with Windows Experience Indexing that's another thing, but if the problem is only the game then try to reinstall it or rename it's config file and check if it helps.
Also try DXDiag.

I was just checking Amazon, this monitor is a few years old. It may be time to upgrade the screen as well. It might not be able to handle the upgrade of the machine.

Edward and Nobus, I will screenshot for you shortly...

Also, I have disconnected and connected a different monitor here that we have while the system is running, and then the error does not come up.  The Spider Solitaire works fine.

I really hope I don't have to convince the customer he needs a new monitor.  We replaced his old processor in this system because it was coming up with WHEA Processor Core errors.  And yes, the processor was confirmed the issue.
Edward Pamias

Monitors are not that expensive. I do not think the customer will have an issue with replacing it.

Here is the requested picture.  Does anyone have any idea why the monitor would have an issue with the processor?

And yes, I may have to tell the customer he will need a different monitor.  It's just one of those scenarios that the customer wasn't sure about putting a processor into the system (cost wise).

Well tell them the monitor is old and needs to be updated. ;)

when the system is powered on -  do you see any screens?
is the problem ONLY with solitaire? and does it display normally for the rest?

you may run sfc or a repair -  some windows files may be needed to be repalced

Believe it or not, that monitor will NOT work with that processor.  Another screen fixed the issue, and that monitor worked with other systems just fine.
