DFSRPrivate folder missing
Created a new folder with restricted access (Windows Server 2012 R2) and noticed that users that do not have access to the folder are able to see the folder (folder should be hidden). Lo and behold the DFSRPrivate folder is missing and I need assistance getting it back. Not sure when it went missing so restoring from backup will be a Herculean challenge. Any other way to get this folder back as DFS Management is already set up and I can see the shared folders listed under Namespaces?
Thank you!
Thank you!

To limit visibility of content within a share folder to authorized individuals only requires that your share security be limited to individuals so authorized if you grant everyone, domain users read rights on the share, the users will ve able to see the folders within the share even though they have absolutely no rights to access them.
To do what you want, the share folder should have a security group access_to_share1 with read rights and access_to_share1_write with write rights or read/write
Those same groups would need to be added to the security tab with the same rights.
Then you add each user to whom you wish to grant access into the read group, those who need to write have to be added to the write group as well as read group if you use read and write security groups........
Mahesh addressed the dfsrprivate which is a dfs replication special folder containing staging, conflict handling......
Nothing in your comment suggests that you used dfs management to add this share to an existing replication group or setup a new replication group .......
