SQL Server Error: 121
When I connect vo my remote SQL Server via Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio I get the error 121.
A Transport level error has occurred when receiving results from the server.
I'm at spain and my Internet provider is Movistar.
When I open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio , I can Log on with my credentials, the connection is via SQL login, and the connection is like 000.000.000.000\Instancena me,49888
49888 is the port I'm using.
I can connect to the same server throug other computers form other places with different Router.
If I connect a USB Internet stick to the problematic computer, then it Works fine, then I think is a router issue. But when I call to my internet provider (Movistar) they say that all the outgoing ports are open.
Any idea?

can you change port 49888 to something small or default value?

I can log, then the error raises when Management studio is trying to retrive Database data.

Windows 7.
one more thing... can you connect to sql from the same network with another pc?
looks like your network card is the one that creates issues here...
as I said before, first update windows 7, install all patches, then update network driver, then disable offload settings...

How is your instance hosted? Is the port 49888 the SQL Server port or a port-forwarding?
Test the connectivity by using Telnet to your server using port 49888..

I can log, then the error raises when Management studio is trying to retrive Database data. That means somehow your connection has been kicked out from SQL Server and that's what the "Transport level error" means.
Despite everything Movistar told you, they must have something to do with it as their internet service might not be stable at the moment. You can also check your Movistar's network configuration with them. Something must be wrong for you don't have a more stable connection.

I restarted my SQLServer computer and then it Works fine, the client could connect.
I can't understand what happened, how restarting the machine can solve a comunnications issue that was happening only in the computers behind an specific router.
I need a more stable solution than restarting the server.

Restarting the server will close all opened connections.
Ofc, restarting the server is not a permanent solution and my guess is that will happen again in a few hours or so.

I agree with you Vitor, because it happened before, it Works during some time and then the error occurs again.
But how can I tell to the Internet provider technicians that the problem is solved when I restart the server, then thay say that then is not a connection problem.

I have been testing during this days, the problem still occurs with the same two clients.
It happens randomly, some times it Works fine during three days, other times it Works only for a couple of hours. To solve the problem I have to restart my server.
The problem can happen to one client and the other can still connecting.
When I restart the server the problem is solved temporarily for both clients.
During all this time there are about 20 other clients that are working without problems.
I can't understand what happen when I restart the server, why if it is a my client router problem, why it is resolved temporarily when reestarting the server?

update network drivers...
or change it if it is possible...
is it the same network card on these machines, or they are using different ones?
