Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 MIgration

Can anyone give me any indication if this is even possible?

Here is the breakdown..

There are two different domains..
Happy.com and Happiness.com
Both Happy and Happiness have the exact same user layout, all the usernames are first initial last name.. they are all the same users on both domains.. The CRM lives on Happiness.com and the DNS lives on Happy.com, The MSSQL DB is 2014 SP1 and is on the CRM server itself.

I would like to install a new server with the CRM Backed up DB to the New server, what will i need to change to be able to log into that system?

Again, all the usernames are the same, though the SID's are different, can you tell me where i would need to update the SID's?
Also is there anything i am over-looking that will need to be changed as well?

I have attempted this, as well as a domain trust, and it fails with different issues..
Mostly user authentication issues.. Although i have also seen licensing issues, DB permissions issues, authentication failures, installation errors, DB version issues, and all sorts of fun stuff.. All servers are Virtual, so i can replicate them to test..

Can i maybe just change the joined Domain of the Current CRM and update the DB?
If so where can i do that from?
Will i break the certificate in doing this?

Thoughts?

Are you changing where the SQL Server for CRM is installed?
