Removing bloatware from the new computer after Windows Pro is installed

After I get all my required software loaded on a new laptop (including Microsoft Office 365 subscription, McAfee and Malwarebytes), what is the best way to remove all the bloatware that comes with the new laptop?

I'll update the new laptop to Windows Pro before I do anything else.

Perhaps there is generally a list of things associated with Windows Pro that I can safely delete.

Thanks

Much of what people call "bloatware" is necessary in one way or another. Look in Programs and Features for vendor software you do not want or need and try uninstalling it. Beware there may be prerequisites.

What software is concerning you?

McAfee should disable the services in Windows Defender that may conflict. But check anyway. Symantec disables Windows Defender on installation.

John,

I can delete things that seem obvious to me – games, Skype, etc. But, I need help identifying software that might be required for other things. More specifically, are there some programs associated with Windows Pro that I can safely uninstall?

Several years ago, one could find lists of things that could be safely deleted.
I use the pcdecrapifier on new pc's to get rid of preinstalled crap.  it saves lots of time over doing it manually.

It even suggests the stuff that most people remove.  You have full control though

No, It's not a good Idea to Uninstall Windows associated programs. at least it's not necessary or will not give you a large space.
You can only uninstall 3rd party softwares and games.
The de crapifier gives you a recommended list and you can deselect any you are not comfortable with.  it uninstalls them in one go, rather than you doing them one at a time and waiting.

I am not a a fan of crapware, but his utility is really good.
None of the Lenovo software below, for example, should be deleted as it is used to help manage the machine properly

When we get laptops from HP or Dell, we do it the other way. We wipe the PC, install fresh windows. Then we add the things we need.
This way you can manually choose what vendor driver / software you need and what you don't.
It may take longer than the other way though.
You should screenshot the list of items in your programs list and we can tell you which ones you can safely uninstall.

Bloat ware is usually manufacture specific ex. Hp and dell have different preloaded programs that you don't need for Windows to run so it varies.
