Windows 7 Pro WSUS updates not working

Hi There,

I looked more closely at our Windows 7 Pro workstations today and discovered that, while they are set to automatically update, they haven't been automatically installing updates since Feb 2017. This predates the important patch that Microsoft released on March 15th, which should keep us safe from WCry.

I've taken these PCs offline until i figure out how to update them.

Does anyone know how to fix this so that they will automatically update again? when I run the updates, the update hangs.

thanks!

are those updates approved in wsus?
does wsus console show updates are needed for these systems?

Oh, i think i'm confused here. please forgive me! Maybe this is not WSUS, but Windows Update?
If i go to Control Panel / System and Security / Windows Update, then it'll tell me that I just checked for updates and then it'll tell me that Windows is up to date with the green shield, but then i see that updates were last installed on 2/27/2017.

best wishes!

From a command prompt on any of these WIn 7 clients what are your results from this command?

reg query HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate /s

Thanks - this worked after i tried it a second time. And it worked on all three windows 7 PCs that were hassling me. Now the computers are updating without any trouble.
