The database principal owns a schema in the database, and cannot be dropped.

I created a new role on a database to test something out. What I was doing did not work so now I want to drop this role. When I try to drop the role I get the message "The database principal owns a schema in the database, and cannot be dropped." I have read through just about every tech note I can find about this message and nothing works. How do I troubleshoot this? How do I find out who the principal is and which schemas it owns? Perhaps that will give me a clue as what has to be done.
