SQL Server 2012 and core licensing
Hello EE,
I have 32 effective quantity cores for SQL server 2014, however in my environment , we are using SQL server 2012 standard on a vmware host . Can I use these core licensing ( with no processor licensing) to satisfy the licensing requirements.

I think you can since you're using a lower SQL Server version but you should ask directly to Microsoft. They, better than us, knows your contract with them so they can give you an assertive answer.
