Remove posts that have been Google indexed

I ran an SEO check on my site and realized that there are several posts that got indexed by Google that were generic, stock posts in the theme I used.  If I delete those posts from the WP admin panel, will they automatically get removed from Google Index or is there a more appropriate way to do that?

They are just irrelevant posts and I'm not sure whether Google would penalize my site realizing that there is generic stock content unrelated to the rest of my site.

How are they automatically removed?  It's a Wordpress site so I can't wrap my head around that.  I would understand if I removed the file via FTP so that it's no longer on the host but can't figure it with Wordpress.
Either in Webmaster tools (see link above) and they will naturally be removed as Google reindexes the site
