change local administrator account in windows 10

how do I reset the windows 10 administrator account password?
In window 7 I usually right clicked on computer and went to manage, local users and groups

Unless if you're also logged in with admin privileges you wont be able to reset another admin account pwd.  Are you using another admin account?
You do the same on win10.
You could also open an elevated command line and fire:
net user administrator newpassword

Open in new window

(sets it to "newpassword)
I am interested, now: can't you do just the same as on win7, right click computer and select "manage"? I can do that.
It depends on UAC mate, unless you run compmgmt.msc it won't come up with the admin authentication :-)
Not really. it's exactly the same as on 7, with or without UAC. With UAC: admin creds are requested, without: access denied.
Dunno, does it matter? Issue's fixed :-)
Offtopic: sure, it does [a little ;-)]- people tend to think "with every new version, MS does things differently" - which is barely true for most things. The essential things, like this one, remained the same for ages.
