File attachment in the SQL Database from application
Hi Expert,
One of our development team were trying to loading the data in their test database from their application portal.
They can attach file into the database but they got the following error.
"Timeout during database update. The operation has been accepted by the server and will usually complete successfully."
They are able to load the file successfully but don't want application user to see this.
Here is my question, is there any option to set up timeout for the database level. They set up the file size from application side only for 20 MB
Please help

They can attach file into the database but they got the following error. They can? How do you/they attach a file into a database?

They load the file from their portal using attachment tab, and the file size is different if they load less than 20 mb then don't show any error output window. if it is more than 20 mb then returned error but they have validated file has been save to the db. They don't want user to see this message while they attach file from portal. Please see the attachment.
I am not sure do i have to change any configuration settings from SSMS like properties--connections-- remote server connection tab--0 instead of 600
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/database-engine/configure-windows/configure-the-remote-query-timeout-server-configuration-option
And from my server i don't see any error. How do i overcome this.

I'm not sure what is for you "attach a file into a database" but I would guess is "importing a file into a table database".
Do you know what tool they are using to achieve this task?

Correct in a table database. and they are using their remedy application portal and this is connected to the test database server. File attachment is ok if less than 20 mb

That's how their remedy application stores files attachment into a database table.

is value has no effect on queries received by the Database Engine. To disable the time-out, set the value to 0. A query will wait until it is canceled.
Please suggest.

I checked and there was no blocking. They have done enable some filter from their application. Seems like it is on their application issue. Not in related SQL Server.
Thanks again for your time.

Look at the upload mechanism/logic.
Does the file actually stored in the db, or the reference is stored in the db, while the file is stored within the file system.
