auto correct in word VS outlook
hi,
I am using MS office 2016. I have word set to auto correct qb for quickbooks. my old version of office, that would also follow to MS outlook. my new set up currently does not do that. is there a configuration ?
also there is a symbol I need to use frequently. it is the IRC code section symbol code 00A7 Unicode.
I would like autocorrect or another tool to display the symbol when I type in "``"
( double tilde ). my old system used to do it form e, but I forgot how I set it up .
can anyone help?

Hi intelogent
For the time being, I'd suggest you simply make the Auto Correct entry into Outlook as well to overcome the behavior.
Having said that however, with my personal knowledge of Terminal Server, I would suggest not as all users will have their own ideas as to which shortcuts should be used to auto correct into what symbols or words. Also, Terminal Server profiles are created for each individual user and I suspect that Auto Correct and Custom Dictionary settings will apply to individual profiles as a result. It may be possible to somewhat kludge a solution, but would require some experimentation.
Hope that's helpful.
in outlook, and manually made the entry and that now works fine.Confirmed - same thing happened here for that particular entry when I try it. It would appear there is an anomaly in using some symbols that do not carry across from one application to the other. Would need to research to find out what's causing that behavior and find out whether it's a bug or by design. That said, after conversations I've had with level 3 support technicians at Microsoft about similar issues not too long ago, I do know there are some Auto Correct related bugs that Microsoft are aware of and yet to release a fix to repair. Those bugs would be pretty low on the priority list though so I wouldn't be expecting a fix anytime soon.

would this tell you that i should still delete the normal doc as you previously directed me?No I can save you the trouble. I just tried it here and it made no difference :)
in a terminal server session, can user share these proofing tools ?That question goes a little beyond the "Microsoft Applications", "Outlook" and "Microsoft Word" topics this query has been raised with and would require Terminal Server expertise, so you may get more fruitful answers by raising another question relating to Terminal Server published applications.

but i still have some anomalies :
when i added to spell check
qb = Quickbooks - this worked fine, and found its way to my MS outlook
but the entry `` ( double tilda ) = § did not work.... isn't that odd ?
then i went to the auto correct feature in outlook, and manually made the entry and that now works fine.
meaning that one auto correct entry for qb followed but not the other one for `` would this tell you that i should still delete the normal doc as you previously directed me?
one last one, in a terminal server session, can user share these proofing tools ?
thoughts?
