MS Edge and MS IE and Cookies
hi,
I prefer to have my history deleted when I exit the software. However, I would want the cookies to be allowed to remain from certain sites, such as my banking site.
is there a way to manually add the cookies that will save, or to simply configure what happens on exit so that the cookies do not delete.?
question is identical for edge and MS ie

you can use IE and chrome to clear history on exit and use CCleaner to keep certain cookies and delete all the rest.

The settings I outline above will do the same thing. No need for CC Cleaner or other like tools.
You can use Nirsoft tools to delete specific cookies, but CC Cleaner, Nirsoft work with IE and other browsers such as Chrome, but not Edge. I think with Edge, you either delete cookies or keep them.
Banking credentials also appear in Control Panel, Credential Manager and you can selectively keep / delete key credentials in this manager.

Use a tool such as Ramin's suggestion to selectively remove cookies. CC Cleaner supports Edge
I think in this case Credential Manager is probably best.

could you clarify the relationship between the credtial manager and the configuration in the browser.
for instance i did open edge cookies were previously selected. i unchecked i.
does this now mean bank software will remember me and no longer ask for alternative verification ?

Bank, Investment and other such sites use Control Panel, Credential Manager rather than Cookies to save User names and passwords.
Look there and you can delete credentials you do not need and keeps those you want.
That is different than clearing cookies (which does not clear credentials)
Also Credentials are the same for IE and Edge

John i would really like to learn.... and yours and other words are helpful
two days ago, neither edge nor MSIE allowed me into my banking software. in edge i made your suggested configuration changes by not allowing it to delete cookies.
now edge lets me in to the software, or better said, my banking software rcognizes me. however, not so with MSIE
i have not yet dealt with the credential manager. in viewing it, that i can remove it, but i do not see how to add to it
how can i seamless access through MSIE to complete the process.
also, i want to be clear, i am not asking to remember my password, but rather just to stop the process of additional security procedures.
