Wordpress website with Centos 7 CWP
I can't seem to get any of the instructions I've found on the web to work with building and getting a wordpress website to load on centos 7 linux with CWP panel.
I've setup Mariadb sql with a new database and new user
I've downloaded wordpress with wget http://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz and extracted it tar xvzf latest.tar.gz
I've ensured to have a folder created in the public_html area as such /home/username/public_html
I've reconfigured wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php and edited the document with the database, user, and password
I've verified that the httpd.conf file has port 80 listening
all I get is the default apache page loaded which is being loaded from index.html from the apache folder
I've even tried to put the wordpress folder into the apache/htdocs folder and that doesn't work either
does anyone have clear instructions on what I'm missing and how to fix this so I can get a wordpress site up and going. I would like to use a domain name and I have changed my domain hosting dns to point to my ip address already.

I got passed the issue of it being the default root figured that part out last night. Zephyr I have not modified the httpd file and have simply placed the wordpress folder into this location instead. I got the page up and going and now I've turned down another road I updated my URL from local host to a domain name and the domain name resolves however I'm getting the directory of index / instead and it shows the wordpress folder and then if I click on it I get an error so before it was loading and now I can't get the page but only the folder structure.
I did add a virtual host to the other httpd document and I updated my hosts file along with running a wordpress plugin to migrate the tables and file structure from local host to the URL any ideas

Did you change the httpd.conf so that it points to the folder where your wordpress website is located?
Check the access and error log files of Apache in /var/log
