Hi there,
I am trying to update a Windows 10 laptop and am getting this error:
Security update for Microsoft visual c++ 2008 redistributable package (KB973924) – Error 0x80246003
I have tried downloading it manually and installing it.
I have tried deleting the windows update software cache
does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for your help,
Shaun

Try removing your antivirus software and see if you have the same issues.

Hi Ramin,
I ran DISM Tools successfully then ran update again and got the same error for that one update
I then ran the commands to reset Windows update and still got the same error.
Hi masnrock,
I had already removed the antivirus software when I first got the problem. It is a good thought though.
Thanks heaps for your suggestions.
Any other ideas?

Try SFC /scannow on your PC and let us know the result.

If it helps any, when I was googling for answers the windows feature .net came up a lot.
I had a look on windows features and this laptop had and .NET Framework 3.5 (Includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0), and .NET Framework 4.6 Advanced Services .
I have been updating laptops in a company I work with and have successfully updated 5 laptops.
I had a look at if there are differences and the other laptops only have .NET Framework 3.5 (Includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0).
I tried just removing .NET Framework 4.6 Advanced Services to make it like the laptops that don't have this update problem but after restarting it it still had the update issue

Thanks Ramin, just running it now. It seems like it might take a little while

I ran the System Scan which said "Verification 100% complete" and then "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations"
ASKER
I ran the update again just in case and it didn't work.
