The License manager is not functioning or is improperly installed. AutoCAD will shut down now.

Hi

Our client's three win7 64bit computers running Autocad 2017 are bloqued this morning

Tried the recommendations in the following help file: AutoCAD-2017-fails-to-launch-after-install.html

Autodesk support isn't responding (it's already 10am)

Any ideas ?

thanks

Hi Yann,

It appears to be a file path issue, wherein AutoCad is looking for certain folders that either haven't been created or are corrupt. Please follow these steps: Link.

Let us know how it goes. Take care.

Thanks Justin

The suggested manoeuvre is also included in the link that I mention in my initial description; and produced no noticeable improvement.

The weird thing is that all three computers present the same symptom on Monday morning; these three have been working fine for practically a whole year.

Thanks for your continued interest in our problem; more than I can say about Autodesk support

The three computers each have their own windows accounts

This suddenly happened this morning, therefore it seems unlikely that the Windows or Autocad installation are to blame since nothing has changed since last week

For the moment our only solution has been to uninstall Autocad and install a trial version (valid for 19 days) and hope that the issue get's solved before then...I'm sure that Autocad can find a sapre moment in their busy schedule to provide some attention to our situation

Personally I think Autodesk's licensing system is buggy and we simply have to wait till someone on their overburdened support team decide to tackle our request(s).

FYI here is the lates email exchange with Autodesk support :

Dear Yann,

Thank you for contacting Autodesk.

I asked you to please send to me the ID and PW of Team Viewer so I can connect.

I am on active interactions already and I can't call you.

If you are unable to do so like that I will have to schedule during the week the remote so please chose the day and time as per my availability.

Best regards,

Sebastian Guevara Viquez
Installation & Licensing Department

CaseNo:13002202.

...and my response:

Sebastian

I cannot give you an unattended access to my client's computer;
all you have to do is call me and I will give you access to one of
the computers

If you find this offer unacceptable or if you don't want to assist us
with this matter please hand over the ticket to someone else

As said before I am available when and if you are ready to call me

The trial version is available for 19 days so I guess I'll just have to
on scheduling calls until I reach someone who is ready to help us

Hi, Yann!

I reached out to AutodeskHelp over Twitter and they responded quickly. They would like you to reach out to them at @AutodeskHelp on Twitter and then they will respond (they can't give support here on EE of course). It might help if you mention me @MethodicalMac and that I tried reaching out on your behalf.

I hope this helps. ;) Take care.
thanks Justin
Hi Yann,

AutodeskHelp just sent this tweet:

Here is the link that was in the tweet: Link. ;)
Justin, do you work for Autodesk ?

Everything works fine Friday night, the PCs are off during the weekend, and Monday morning
Autocad doesn't work anymore so you automatically assume that my client's PCs are the problem
Hi Yann,

Lol, I don't. I'm just doing everything I can to help you out.
I use to work for Apple HQ as an AppleCare Advisor but fell into government contracting jobs in Systems Administration and teaching. As of now I'm studying for my CEH (DoD loves EC Council certs) and looking forward to a career in cyber security.  ;)
