Can anyone please describe the steps for SSL configuration in SharePoint 2013.

Hi Walter Curtis,

Thanks for the reply.

It is a 2012 R2 server with sharepoint 2013.

I have created a Web App with http and some port number.

I have done alternate access mapping

I have created a Self signed certificate in IIS and add https binding for the particular Web Application.

I have added my IP address and site name in the host file.

Can you please tell me what else i have to do.

No actually it is throwing a website not available error.

I think i am doing something wrong in AAM.

Does the site work when using HTTP ?

yeah..it works with HTTP

Can i know when i am creating a web app the port number can be anything or it should be 80? Can you please help me with AAM.
