Active Directory Replication
Good Morning Experts,
We currently have a 2008 R2 domain.
We have 2 2008 R2 domain controllers, 1 2012 R2 domain controller and a new 2016 domain controller.
We had 3 previously but I just added the 2016 over the weekend and plan on demoting the other two.
Here is my question.
How can I tell if we are still using NTFRS replication or DFSR?
I looked at this article and went through the steps and maybe it's just Monday but it doesn't seem like a solid approach and I ended up having both.

Also, when i demote the 2008 R2 domain controllers, will the process of upgrading the functional level of the forest automatically change everything to DFSR or do I need to prepare it? It prepared the forest when I added the 2016 but also dole me FRS wasn't supported, but looks to me like it's lying and it's still running.
I'm trying to confirm this before going forward. All dcdiag test are successful on all domain controllers so something is working :)
Thank you,
Karen
