Getting external ip internally
Hi,
There is one iphone in our office has trouble connecting to out wifi. On the admin console, it shows it is connected, but instead of internal ip (192.168xxx), it shows external ip 184.194.206.0
Any ideas? thanks

Is this the console on the Access Point? Can you check the iPhone WiFi settings again to ensure that it's connected to your AP? If it is not then it doesn't matter what your AP console state, the iPhone is not connecting to WiFi.

it is not the AP, we have a dedicated line. so it is a router...
Yes, in this case the router is also an AP because it has a built-in WiFi Access Point. Is this the console you're referring to? If so, my question is still the same. Regardless of what your console screen on the router is showing, the iPhone is showing the data provider's IP address correct?
Is it possible for you to kick/release the iPhone in question out of your WiFi then try reconnecting the iPhone again?

please see the screenshot I took. It is a netgear router. I can not kick or release this phone. Very strange, only this one has problem.

What NetGear model is it? If worse come to worse, you may have to power cycle the router (unplug from the wall).

C3700 You have no idea...how many time I power cycle the router.. :)

A quick question, can I reboot the router everyday? (using a timer)
A quick question, can I reboot the router everyday? (using a timer)
You're welcome mcrmg! To be honest I am unsure if the circuit of the router is made for daily reboot even tho I don't see any problem with that but to be on the safe side routers are meant to stay on 24/7. If you need to reboot the router that frequently perhaps something else may be wrong with it.

okay, thank you
