Lotus Notes db size issue

We have removed around 6 GB size of documents but after compaction db size changed from 63.8 GB to 61.9 Gb
What could be the issue here?

There are the Replication Stubs, but they won't account for 4Gb lost. Then there may be holes in the database file. Did you check the database utilization, in the Preferences? And did you use one of the options that allow you to compact the database by copying it, thus releasing the unused space?

ASKER

I am not from server team to check the utilization. They used Compact -B. Compact by copying means creating new replica or copy of the database and discarding the original later?

It is not showing 56 GB.  I guess your point about "the free space in a database should be released in a day or so" is right.

Thanks for help
