New Hard Drives for home

Afternoon all,

Ok, so I'm getting some new hard drives since my current drives are too full... Kinda obvious really.

I'm looking at the WD Blues and I can see there is the 1TB EZEX Blue model. However there are these new EZRZ models which are more expensive yet spin at 5200 RPM only...

Why are they more expensive? Are they better or not so much

Cheers

This depends what role your drives will be playing.  If for external long-term storage, the EZEX is fine.  If you will be frequently running read/write activity then an SSD or hybrid drive would be recommended.

Just depends on what you need them for really.

Gave conclusive answers as to the differences between the drives, I have no need for an SSD since I'm using this for storage and not playing games. A NAS is just overkill, I'd not access the drives unless my machine was anyway so I might as well just RAID this out in my rig.
