Managing phone contacts
Afternoon All
I am having a number of problems with clients using their cellphones to save contacts. They are linked to Office 365 and the devices vary between IOS and Android.
When saving contacts they do not manage where they are saved so it can either be saved in Whatsapp, Contacts on device or via Office 365. We then find that a year or two later they get a new device and the mission begins getting everything in sync.
Is there an easy way to make the device just use Office 365 when saving any contact from any app? I must admit I am finding the problems far more frustrating on Android than IOS. Specifically the Sony Xperia Z5 phones.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Sadly, each device - Android or IOS - must be configured.
But, I fully agree with Jackie's comments.
On the iOS you have to use settings to assign contacts to your O365 account (calendar as well) and you should, obviously, use O365 for email. This way, your email, contacts and calendar are all synched to all locations - cell phones, computers, and web page access.
On the android, install Outlook and use the Outlook email app for all issues - email, calendar, people, and your OneDrive files can be opened from the Outlook Android app.
Again, when using O365 on each device, all elements are synched via the web-based O365 service.
For security, don't forget to turn on the Two Level security - to prevent someone from using your account on a different device without a second notification.
And, with your phones, add the device to your account for greater control/security.

I opened a support ticket with Microsoft and they informed me that they do not support adding contacts from mobile devices yet. You will have to add them via Outlook or the Web.
Frustrating but I hope they solve the problem soon.
How do you add a phone to your Office 365 account?

Unless you are using a Windows Phone running Windows 10 Mobile, you cannot do what you want.
Microsoft has no control over how the OS of other mobile platforms works.
You add your Office 365 account to your phone and you will see the device in your Office 365 account.

No. For Android, the default location of saving contacts is the cloud location of your Gmail account. You need to manually select the cloud location of your Office 365 account.
