I trimmed a voice memo.... didn't ask to save or save as or anything like that. Any chance of getting the trimmed part back?

I had a 3 hour recording in voice memo on an iphone ios 10.3.2. I wanted to copy it off. I did the same thing I did with 1 hour recordings - click the folder with up arrow, choose drop box and then it woudl upload it.

But for this file I got an error about dropbox. FIgured the file was too big to go as a single file? figured I'd break it in half.

in voice memos, for that file, I clicked edit, then the trim icon. Trimmed it and tapped something.

then the file was 1 1/2 hours. but didn't ask me to save / confirm change, etc.

So now I don't have the original 3 hours, only 1 1/2 hours!? ANy chance to get back the trimmed part (can I paste it into another file? Back into this one? Is the original 3 hours still available?!

Any advice would be appreciated!!

thanks. not sure what file I edited or if I did edit anything. After calming down, the 3 hour file was still there. I do have a similar named file that was 1 1/2 hours also, as it should be. Maybe I did a trim and it WOULD ask to save it? I trimmed but didn't save the result? then saw the 1 1/2 hour file and got confused.

Fortunately a false alarm / operator error...
