Sharepoint 2010 Sub Domain (Web Application) Permissions Issue

Hi EE,

When I am trying to log onto a subdomain of an intranet site, I am being denied access. I have granted myself complete access over the primary domain via the SharePoint Central Administration tool and have checked to see whether the subdomain 'pwa' is a managed path of the primary domain which it is, refer to the screenshot.

How do I troubleshoot from here?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Rainer,

Sub-domain means:

www.mysharepoint.local/pwa (explicit)

Thank you.
Hi Zack,

Rainer is correct and listen when he talks...

I think you are thinking incorrectly about managed paths. Managed paths don't really have anything to do with permissions. If you want access to all paths of a web application, including the managed paths of the web application, grant yourself access via user policy. I think I showed you how to do that in an earlier post, so take a look.

Good luck...

Hi Walter/Rainer,

Yes I remember that post you are referring to:

https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/29024505/HOW-TO-Grant-access-to-a-web-application-in-Sharepoint-2010.html

Access to root site 'example: www.mysharepoint.local' is working and via user policy, I have given myself complete access (Full Control, All Zones) to as shown in the link above.

However when I access the subdomain www.mysharepoint.local/pwa I get an access denied error.

Is there anything else I should investigate with regards to user policy permissions.  I do apologize for the simplicity of my queries on this matter our Sharepoint admin is away on sick leave, and I have zero experience with Sharepoint administration.

Thank you, your assistance is appreciated.
